YouthWorks at Johns Hopkins University

My name is Chanel. I was born in Baltimore and have lived here all my 17 years. I currently live on the West side of the city in Edmonson Village. I attend the Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship High School were I will  be a senior this fall. I would like to become a registered nurse when I finish college. I live with my mother, stepfather and my little sister. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also sing and dance and run track. I enjoy eating all types of food and I love a good nap.

My name is Samone and I am a 16-year-old junior at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. I consider myself fun, outgoing, loving, gregarious, and an overall great person to get to know. Outside of school, I participate in a number extracurricular activities such as dancing, which I have been doing since I was three. Over the years, I have taken modern, hip hop, flamenco, jazz, contemporary, and ballet classes. Besides dancing outside of school, I participate in a number of clubs at my school including, National Dance and Art Honors societies, Hip Hop Squad, Roses Repertory Dance Company, Threads, Diversity, and Black Awareness Club. I plan to attend college after high school and then enroll in law school. For now,  I am interested in both corporate and entertainment law.

My name is Kenterra and I am 17 years old.  I was born and raised on Baltimore’s East side but left the city for Virginia Beach where I live with my father and three brothers. I am back in the city for a few months living with relatives and working in the YouthWorks summer jobs program. After high school, I plan to move back to Baltimore and attend college to study business. As for my personality, I’m fun-loving and outgoing. I like to hang out with my friends, shop and talk on the phone.

My name is Alex Peters, I’m 16 years and I attend Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, also known as Poly. I like to think of myself as outgoing because I love to do new things. I enjoy traveling and have visited many places in the Caribbean, such as Trinidad & Tobago, and the Virgin Islands. I’ve also traveled around the United States visiting such places as California and Florida. I am an aspiring medical doctor. I hope to one day become a neuroradiologist, a specialty dealing with nerves and the brain.

My name is Zachary Worsley and I am a 15-year-old sophomore at Mount Saint Joseph High School. I live on the East side of Baltimore. My interests include playing  sports, reading, surfing the web, cooking, playing the drums and singing. After graduation, I would like to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta and major in political science. After undergraduate school, I’d like to go to  law school at Howard University in Washington D.C. My goal is to become a corporate attorney and eventually start my own firm.
